ORACLE MAGAZINE FEATURES DNR WEB TECHNOLOGY
A leading information technology magazine is featuring the state Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) computer system, SONRIS/2000, in its January/February 2000 issue.
Department of Natural Resources Secretary Jack Caldwell said that Oracle Magazine's article, Portal for the Environment, describes how the information systems division of DNR used available technological tools to its greatest advantage. Caldwell credits information systems director Rizwan Ahmed and an adept staff for creating a Java-based web portal without the benefit of Java programmers. Because of their skills and know-how, DNR has been providing online free public access to its oil and gas records and maps, Caldwell said.
Oracle Corporation is the world's leading supplier of software for information management, and the world's second largest independent software company. Oracle possesses the largest market share of relational database management software products.
