State Mineral and Energy Board Lease Sale for April brings $1.9 million
BATON ROUGE- The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, April 10th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected $1.9 million in bonuses in the April lease sale, bringing the new Fiscal Year ‘12-13, total collected to over $15 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 21 leases covering 4,462 acres, out of 66 nominated tracts covering more than 90,819 acres.
The Board sold leases in Caddo, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Lafourche, Plaquemines and Terrebonne parishes.
Three newly appointed Board members attended this month’s lease sale and committee meetings. Joining the ten member mineral board are Louis Lambert of Prairieville, R.E. “Bob” Miller of Morgan City, and Dan R. Brouillette of Texas.
