Results of March State Lease Sale announced by Mineral and Energy Board
BATON ROUGE- The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, March 13th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected $279,549 in bonuses in the March lease sale, bringing the new Fiscal Year ‘12-13, total collected to $13 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 11 leases covering 785 acres, out of 18 nominated tracts covering more than 8,786 acres.
The Board sold leases in Avoyelles, Cameron, Catahoula, Concordia, Jefferson Davis, Lafourche, Plaquemines and Terrebonne parishes.
