Officials celebrate Ground breaking of Veterans Park in Pierre Part
State and local officials and the public participated in a ground breaking ceremony for Veteran’s Park located in Pierre Part off of Highway 70 on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 10 a.m.
The park project will be constructed as part of the Assumption Parish Master Plan. The improvements for the park include two large baseball diamonds, two tennis courts, lighting, parking and a walking trail around the perimeter. Access roads on both sides will be built.
The state provided $684,000 for the project and operation and management of the facility will come from local government.
