Mineral and Energy Board Lease Sale for August brings $1.1 million
The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, August 14th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected over $1.1 million in bonuses in the August lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year ’13-‘14 total collected to over $1.8 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 19 leases covering 2,484 acres, out of 58 nominated tracts covering more than 53,844 acres.
The Board sold leases in Bienville, Caddo, Concordia, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, Iberia, Lafourche, Terrebonne and Vermilion parishes.
