Board Announces December Mineral Lease Sale Results
Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $449,683 in bonus revenue for the state in the December lease sale. The current FY 2016-17 total bonus payment amount is $1.1 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 14 leases covering 1,975 acres. The leases were located in Lafourche, Plaquemines and Terrebonne parish.
According to the Board, the total mineral bonus payments to the state for FY 2015-16 amounted to $5.5 million.
