ULL graduate completes thesis with help from Secretary Harper

Baton Rouge, Aug 31, 2010 - Louisiana coastal restoration efforts and media exposure –does it influence policy-making and funding efforts?

While that sounds like a mouthful - it was not at all intimidating for a young, scholarly, and motivated University of Louisiana at Lafayette graduate student, Michael Spears, pursuing a Master of Science degree.

Spears reached out to DNR Secretary Bob Harper for guidance and research data in preparing for a thesis paper while in pursuit of a master’s in Communications from ULL. He began his work in 2008.

Mission- Accomplished in August 2010. Spears conveyed great appreciation to Sec. Harper for making a positive impact on his findings!
